This animated sketch -- made with acrylic paint, a canvas, and a Super-8 camera propped up on a ladder -- was a preliminary test for a longer animated project that I never got around to. The footage is from 1993. The soundtrack is from now.
Originally envisioned as part of a flipbook animation project, these images were drawn last-page-first in a notebook with a marker. The pages were then scanned and compiled in iMovie. The soundtrack was thrown together in GarageBand by me.
An animated version of a song that I wrote on the ukulele. I used the computer program Flash to animate and rotoscope the video file.
The original video file is also on YouTube in case you want to see a "before and after".
The original footage (a self-portrait while spinning with a borrowed Pixelvision PXL-2000 camera) was transfered from Pixelvision audio tape onto VHS, then rotoscoped from a TV screen onto paper and then photocopied. The pages were scanned, and then assembled in iMovie.
The ticky-ticky soundtrack was compiled in GarageBand.
