Sensei Bueno demonstrates the power of ki through the sacred sticks. When 4 people focus on the sticks they jump - of their own accord!! Unfortunately our ki was too strong and even a sacred stick shihan like Bueno Sensei had trouble controlling them.
During a visit to Salvador, Brazil, we were fortunate enough to visit the Capoeira school of Mestre Falcone. At the end of his class/demonstration he pulled us up, one-by-one to play capoeira with him. Here are the embarrassing results.
Marcos graded today with Paul and Guido as his ukes. Nice work. I stuffed up the camera work so it is in 3 parts - Part 1 & 2 are tanto tori. Part 3 is futari techniques & "Shihan Jiu waza" - taking ukemi for Kawai Sensei.
Paulo has a mild form of autism and is encouraged, helped and supported by all the kids at Casa da Criança. Here he practises ikkyo ura, with Sensei Bueno as his uke.
Guido and Marcos practising for Marcos's nidan grading. A nidan grading here includes 10 or 12 tanto techniques and afterwards taking extreme ukemi! Very different from home. If you look closely you can see Paul and Gabby practising soft breakfalls in the background (I said practising, we haven't perfected them)
