I created this video to illustrate what goes through my mind when I hear Angelene. I feel as though the persona PJ took on in '95 was Angelene, who would be spoken of later during the Is This Desire? era. Using movie maker, I combined two videos from the To Bring You My Love era and the song from Is This Desire? I hope you like it.
PJ Harvey - Meet Ze Monsta (Live on BBC). This is from 1995, one of the best years of her career. The performances of this song in this era are the best.
After meeting an influential agent(in real life, Ben Lyon), who arranges a screen test for Norma Jean, who then has cosmetic enhancements to alter her appearance. She also adopts the name of Marilyn Monroe. Contrary to belief, her name is not taken from the American president, it's actually her mother's maiden name.
Marilyn Monroe reunites with Arthur Miller and starts seeing a psychiatrist, who listens as Marilyn shares a recurring nightmare she keeps having about her biological father.
Marilyn finally has a meltdown and is sent to the Psych ward. According to her biography, Marilyn was sent to Payne Whitney Psychiatric Clinic in February of 1961 while still with DiMaggio. Despite what is depicted here, Marilyn's psychiatrist was not a woman.
After Sadie's sudden marriage to Axel, a man she hardly knows, Georgia and company celebrate at a local club, where Sadie asks her sister to perform with her. Later, Georgia discusses Sadie's behavior with her husband, who sparks her own jealousy of Sadie when he calls her "an original."
I created this video after listening to one of my favorite songs, "Bows and Arrows," by PJ Harvey. It conveys the message of the video very well. Bring our troops home.
Eddie, who knew Marilyn as Norma Jean Dougherty, returns and checks up on his long-time friend, who begins mixing her medications with alcohol, as well as questioning her career.
I wanted to create a video that would sum up Anna's life through song, so I chose Amber Waves by Tori Amos because it fit so perfectly. She went out with a bang, that's for sure.
Shortly after getting her divorce papers, Norma Jean Dougherty celebrates with her friend, Eddie, who unknowingly sparks rage in Norma Jean after he announces he has signed a movie contract with 20th Century Fox. This film was released in 1996 and was based on Ted Jordan's (Eddie in the film) relationship with a then unknown Marilyn Monroe. All of these videos are my own original work and edits.
Georgia, a successful musician, opens her concert while her aspiring, drug-addicted sister, Sadie, watches from the crowd. Georgia - 1995 - Starring Jennifer Jason Leigh and Mare Winningham.
Disclaimer: Though I don't own the copyrights, I did edit these videos myself; they are my OWN work.
