A new movie studio and hotel development is planned for southern Rhode Island.
A California-based movie studio developer, Pacifica Ventures, announced plans yesterday for a studio in Hopkinton. If the project goes forward, it would create 500 construction jobs, then generate thousands of movie production jobs.
