Trailing by 20 midway through the Third Quarter, the Lakers erupted to overcome the deficit. The LA Lakers took on the Utah Jazz on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at the Staples Center. Kobe Bryant had a brilliant game, showing why he will win the NBA MVP for the 2007/2008 regular season. The Lakers beat the Jazz 109 to 98 to lead the best of 7 series, 1 to none.
The LA Lakers take on the Den Nuggets in Game 2 of the 2008 NBA Playoffs Round 1. The game featured a superb effort by superstar Kobe Bryant scoring 49 points with 10 assists. The Lakers went on to win the game 122 to 107 at Staples Center on Wednesday night.

Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers won his first Most Valuable Player Award for the 2007/2008 NBA season.
