Luke having his morning chatter with his mommy. I swear, he's not only one of the smartest birds I've ever met, this guy has a sense of fun about him that brings joy to the entire family. This guy isn't a one person bird either. He goes easily to every person in the house.
This is Luke, now 2. He was being rehomed at 7 months old because he wasn't talking yet. He was also supposed to be a mean biter. At 7 months old, we were his 4th and final home.
I know, I'm a mad bird woman with a video camera. How can I resist? Okay, maybe I shouldn't try singing with or to the birds, but it sure is cute when they do!
Our Sweet Jabber-Jaws FINALLY saying "I love you." Swear once and he learns it immediately, say I love you a million times a day and in a year, TAH DAH! he'll finally say it!
Bart, our cockatiel, whistles his sweet version. We know he's had at least 3 homes before us, so I have no idea who taught this to him. It does infuriate me that people just keep passing birds off or letting them go. He's been here a year and he's just starting to trust us.
Billy is such a show off. He LOVES to be on camera. What I love in this video is the sunlight hitting his wings as he's flapping them~ he's pretty and a riot, no wonder I let him eat my house. *Smirk*
I swear, a more stubborn bird does not exist. He'll do anything BUT the kitty noise, which, of course, he'd been doing all morning. The kitty noise? Ah, cat fight on the front porch... pretty funny when the goofy bird mimics it for days after.
When Billy arrived at our home he was totally traumatized. He'd spent 8 years in a cage outdoors under a moldy tarp. He'd had no toys, was nearly starved to death and had no contact with humans other than partying youth poking at him to make him scream. At the point of this video he'd been in our home nearly 2 years.
This has to be Billy's favorite game. He could do this for hours on end. If you've read any of his background from his other videos, you'll know what an incredible thing it is for Billy to playfully interact with people at all. Yes, there are perches all over the outside of his cage, he's just inside on his own terms, so he can hide behind the dish door.
