A hot air balloon caught fire Friday near the U.S. border in British Columbia.
A hot air balloon burst into flames before taking off on Friday, but the fire caused the basket to break loose and start floating, which forced the passengers to jump for their lives.
Both passengers, a mother and daughter, died in the accident.

Here are some of the photos I've taken at the massive Hot Air Balloon Festival, held each year in Albuquerque, New Mexico . . . hundreds of balloons participate every year . . . the cost for the fancy "specialty balloons" exceeds well over $100,000.
The great thing about these events, is that they allow you to wander around EVERYWHERE as the balloons are being setup and inflated!

These two Honey Bee character hot air balloons, at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta ® 2007 were already adorable as they took to the air with their hands velcroed together. Then, gusty Mother Nature took over and it got just plain way too cute!
