The Staten Island Yankees won the 2006 NY-Penn League title, and became the first team in 25 years to claim back to back championships. George Kontos got the win for the bombers and closer Mark Melancon came in the eighth inning with two outs to close the game. On September 9, 2006 the Staten Island Yankees defeated the Brooklyn Cyclones in Game one of the first round of the New York-Penn League Playoffs. George Kontos was the winning pitcher for the Yankees and Mark Melancon struck out the side to earn the save. This video is of Melancon striking out the final batter in the game.
