The South and West Association of Traction Kiters is probably the biggest and certainly the most active Power kite club in the UK. This is my video of a meet held in August 07. I believe it features the first use of a camera crane for an amateur power kite film. Other forms of camera stabilisers and mounts are in there.
A brief overview of the Umarex Colt 1911 A1, and the Walther CP88 Competition (6" barrel), with a demo of the superb RWS Speedloader in there. A link to the full res vesrion here: http://www.waveform. eclipse.co.uk/WEB%20 PAGES/articles%20hom e%20page.htm
Some more footage from my home build, but with the correct counterweights fitted. Ironically it's less stable than with the bucket of water! Still fiddling with it as bits get added on. Some traditional Muzak in there too :-)
Some construction information: http://www.waveform. eclipse.co.uk/WEB%20 PAGES/CAMERA%20CRANE .htm
I'm being asked to put some of my older videos here, because not everyone has a connection fast enough to download better versions from my own webspace, so here's one such video.
It accompanies a review to be found on racekites.com. Hope you guys can see it now! :-}
In early October 2007 a bunch of forum members from racekites.com headed to Camber Sands UK for a weekend of powerkiting. As it happend the winds better suited Camber's neighbour, Greatstone, so whilst that's where we flew, the meet will always be known as 'Camber 2007'
This is a very short vid made simply to test an improved improvised steady cam mount.
A few pics of the, er, 'device' here :-) : http://www.waveform. eclipse.co.uk/IMAGES /CAMERA%20CRANE/STEA DY%20MOUNT/
For a while I've been using a simple improvised steady mount for hand held stuff, I've now improved it, this is the first trial.
Sorry my place was in a mess at the time :-)
