I was figuring out what song to record next, when I remembered I busked this one the other day as a change. Bert wrote this beautiful piece for a friend who over-dosed on heroin. It also inspired Neil Young to write "The Needle And The Damage Done." Note: Bert recently performed this song live on stage with Mr Pete Doherty too.

My favourite Bert Jansch song (and must be Jimmy Pages too). Difficult to sing as the melody covers a fairly wide range. Bert put music to a trad celtic folk number. Not many songs that go with a Glasgow accent. Originally posted by my bro who recorded me.
