A man of wit and wisdom, Red Skelton told jokes about animals rather than people. Gertrude and Heathcliff were a couple of seagulls. They were always pulling each others feathers one way or another. This joke was told on national TV by Red Skelton in the late 50's possible early 1960 according to the dvd that I have of Red.
