Is there anyone out there who hasn’t played around on YouTube at least for a little while? Hey even I have over 100 videos on YouTube, which I shot for my “Playtime Las Vegas blog. Well now, digital camera and camcorder manufacturers are starting to offer a recording option that allows the user to record video clips that are optimized and immediately available for upload to YouTube. Now the well equipped videophile on the go can shoot a video, download it to a Wi-Fi enabled laptop, and instantly upload it to YouTube. The Samsung SC-MX20 camcorder uses SD cards, provides 720×480 resolution, has a Schneider lens with 34X optical zoom, and allows 16:9 widescreen recording at a MSRP of $279.00. Take a camera with you whenever possible, and look around, you’ll find a picture somewhere. Source:www.cameratown.com See full article. Shoot Some Fireworks With Your Digital Camera
Taking pictures of fireworks displays with film cameras was a tricky assignment and something greatly misunderstood by many amateurs. One would have thought that fast film and long telephoto lenses would do the trick, when actually the opposite is true, unless the display was a long distance off. Fireworks photos come out best when you’re up close and use short focal lengths, no more than 75mm equivalent, in my opinion. Of course with digital cameras most of the guesswork is taken out of the equation; especially if your camera has a “fireworks” setting or program. Kodak Goes Digital Big Time
Now that the venerable Kodak Company has pretty much forsaken film for digital photography it seems that they just can’t introduce new cameras fast enough. Kodak which had only a few digital cameras for sale about 3 years ago, with just small differences between models, now has every imaginable type of camera in its lineup. I’m still happy with my Kodak P880, and so far it hasn’t given me any headaches although, like most complex devices it has had a few glitches and hiccups. Nothing really bad though, such as a total breakdown, or loss of all data has happened. I’ve only experienced the occasional failure to actually take a picture, even though it appears that it did, but at least you are aware of it and can take another. Now Kodak is introducing a wide array of technically advanced, compact cameras, at very attractive prices, such as the Kodak M1063, shown above. Rather than try to relate the details on all of Kodak’s new models check out this page and click on the various links that take you to the details of all the new Kodak digital cameras. So You Want To Be A Pro Digital Photographer
Wouldn’t it be great if you could get paid for doing something you like; such as taking pictures? Many people dream of being their own boss and earning a living by engaging in something that would ordinarily be considered fun and a pastime. I have a good friend who has been an avid amateur photographer all his life. He made the transition from film to digital several years ago, and shortly thereafter, he found some ways to earn a few bucks by taking digital pictures. Maybe you can do it too. Here’s a wealth of free information, including instructional videos all about becoming a pro digital photographer. Source:www.jeffrey-a-salakar.net See full article. Canon’s National Parks Digital Photo Contest
If you love outdoor photography, and you’ve never visited any of the USA’s National Parks, then there’s a treasure trove of photo opportunities waiting for you. I took the one above in Zion National Park during early November, 2006. I haven’t been to many National Parks because I caught on to them too late in life; but the ones I’ve visited have provided me with all the “photo ops” I could have hoped for. Because of various medical problems, I haven’t been able to get to the better parts of many parks so I know there’s even more to be explored, a lot more. Now, Canon Digital Cameras is making a trip to a National Park even more inviting by giving you a chance to enter a digital photo you took in a National Park in their, “Photography In The Parks Photo Contest”, and win some great prizes. Here’s the link to the government’s National Parks website. Have fun and good luck, and remember to take a camera with you whenever possible. Look around, you’ll find a picture somewhere.
