We Didn’t Start the Viral: Redux
Hey Readers, Just in case you’re counting, there are now four ‘We Didn’t Star the Fire’ year-end wrap-up videos. If you count Dan Meth’s Internet people, that makes five. Of course you shouldn’t really count Internet People because it doesn’t use the song. But my theory is that Mr. Meth started the ‘Fire’ (so to speak), and the folks at JibJab, Wallstrip, Cakke, and the Richter Scales just carried the idea to its logcial (and simultaneous) conclusion. Jackie Chan and Jet Li come together onscreen for the first time in this action film about an American teen (Michael Angarano) who’s transported back to ancient China after discovering the Monkey king’s fighting stick in a pawn shop. Once there, the teen helps warriors try to free the king.

YoungCuts film Festival
Recently we’ve received a lot of uploads from The Young Cuts film Festival, a hybrid online/real world exhibit for film makers under the age of 25. Their goal is to get young directors and animators noticed. The 2008 film Festival is taking place in Montreal in August of 2008. Submissions are accepted until February 28th, 2008. So, to all of our awesome video creators: you can still submit! There’s a lot of strong work out there. Here’s a sample of some of the videos that have impressed me.
